» Notes from the Nurse...

Welcome to the Health Room webpage. We're looking forward to a great year at Woodinville High School. Throughout the year, you can check this site for updates on health and safety topics related to school and the community.

As the school year begins, we are already seeing a fair number of students getting viral illnesses. These are usually short-lived lasting 1-2 days with symptoms including nausea, diarrhea, and sometimes fever. Be sure that you and your family practice good hand washing techniques, eat well, and get plenty of rest as we move into the winter cold and flu season. These are your best protection against illness

Most of you have seen a letter sent by Sandie Tracy, RN, Health and Nursing Supervisor regarding meningococcal disease and the available vaccine. This information is especially pertinent for college bound students and parents should become familiar with the recommendations regarding vaccination. The following link will connect you to a site that will provide wonderful information and guidance for you.

A Reminder About Medication:

If your student must receive prescribed or over-the-counter medication from the nurse, you need to complete a medication authorization form signed by your physician or dentist. Forms are available from the nurse or in the front office. Medication must come to school in its original pharmacy labeled container.
Thanks for all you do to keep your kids healthy and ready to learn.
