As the school year begins, we are already seeing a fair number of students getting viral illnesses. These are usually short-lived lasting 1-2 days with symptoms including nausea, diarrhea, and sometimes fever. Be sure that you and your family practice good hand washing techniques, eat well, and get plenty of rest as we move into the winter cold and flu season. These are your best protection against illness Most of you have seen a letter sent by Sandie Tracy, RN, Health and Nursing Supervisor regarding meningococcal disease and the available vaccine. This information is especially pertinent for college bound students and parents should become familiar with the recommendations regarding vaccination. If your student must receive prescribed or over-the-counter
medication from the nurse, you need to complete a medication authorization
form signed by your physician or dentist. Forms are available from the
nurse or in the front office. Medication must come to school in its
